EAL Online Professional Learning Module

In the middle school,we are now into the third week of the EAL professional learning module Language Learning, Reading and Writing Across the Curriculum. There are 14 teachers who have decided to take the 10-week course and I think this is an exciting way to deliver content, online skills acquisition/practice, and collaboration in a setting that is respectful of teachers' time. Teachers teaching teachers is the way to go, don't you think?

We just wrapped up our first online professional learning module and it went surprisingly well! There were about 10 teachers who finished the requirements for the module (and credit) and the teachers are absolute rock stars! I am very proud of our middle school faculty for taking on this additional challenge and for being so open to learning more about our students. I am planning a collaboration and co-teaching module now if anyone has favorite resources to share. I will post it on this site shortly for feedback.

Year three of the module and it is now offered for graduate credit and to all divisions of the school. I am now at ASW and there are 20 teachers enrolled. Exciting!
